From buttery Aberdeen Angus steaks to smoked haddock chowder (Cullen skink) and sweet, creamy cranachan, Scotland’s cuisine stands out among its European counterparts. With influences from Celtic, Norse, and Anglo-Saxon cultures, Scottish fare is deeply connected to its heritage. On this tour, we’ll visit local producers who still work the traditional way, inviting guests to experience authentic Scottish techniques firsthand.
A highlight of the tour includes recreating an historic meal once held at Naworth Castle for your final night. This special dinner will feature a Howard family recipe, linking back to King Henry VIII and providing a unique insight into the culinary traditions of the time. Throughout the tour, we’ll delve into the stories behind Scotland’s finest ingredients, uncovering the impact of trade routes, local traditions, and how history has influenced the evolution of these recipes.
